Omi is an AI-powered note-taking and transcription product from San Francisco-based Based Hardware. A wearable device (worn as a necklace) plus desktop and mobile apps capture conversations and screen activity to create tasks, reminders, and summaries; the software is open-source with on-device processing. It was launched at CES 2025 (originally marketed as 'Friend'). Founded by Nik Shevchenko, a Thiel Fellow and repeat founder.
